Mathematics Education Journals
For decades, AAMT’s respected, peer-reviewed journals have been a cornerstone of the Australian mathematics education community, championing quality research, effective classroom practice, and the voices of educators across the country.
Our journals included :
- The Australian Mathematics Teacher (AMT) – One of AAMT’s earliest journals, serving secondary school teachers, published from the 1960s onward.
- Australian Senior Mathematics Journal (ASMJ) – Focused on senior secondary and tertiary mathematics education.
- Australian Primary Mathematics Classroom (APMC) – Launched in 1996, this journal catered to primary school teachers with practical classroom ideas and research-informed teaching strategies.
- Australian Mathematics Education Journal (AMEJ) – Introduced in 2019, AMEJ combined content from AMT and ASMJ.
After a thorough review by the AAMT Board, the decision was made to cease publication of APMC and AMEJ at the end of 2025. The final editions were published in December 2025.
Although the journals are no longer published, past editions remain available for purchase.
We are happy to assist you in building a collection of APMC or AMEJ for your library or personal use.
To purchase back issues, please email us at office@aamt.edu.au with the editions you are interested in, and we’ll respond within two business days.
