This child is exploring measurement of mass through balancing the scale.

• How will you know when the scale is balanced?
• How many weights do you have on each side?
• Is that an odd or even number?
• Which end of the scale is heavier/lighter?
• How many more weights will you need to add to the left/right side of the scale to make it balance?
