Geoboard Gems

Paul Swan

Students like using geoboards. They are simple and allow experimentation with many mathematical concepts; dot paper can be used to record results. In this publication from the ever popular Paul Swan, geoboards are used to explore triangle types, quadrilaterals and other polygons. Other activities cover perimeter, area, Pick’s Rule and even algebra. Each activity is linked to content descriptions from the Australian Curriculum. There are dot-paper recording sheets for 9, 16 and 25 pin geoboards (and circular ones, too) for photocopying, as well as colourful task cards.
