Mathematicians in Schools
Mathematicians in Schools is a sub-program of the successful Scientists in Schools run by CSIRO Education. The aim is to create and support ongoing partnerships connecting teachers with mathematicians and other professionals who use mathematics as a major component of their work.
There is no cost to participants. The flexibility of the program means that each partnership is unique, allowing such things as
- mentoring of students;
- site visits or excursions;
- collaboration on long-term projects or competitions;
- provision of links to current research;
- discussion of mathematics careers and hot topics.
