National professional standards for accomplished primary teaching

During 2009 and early 2010 the AAMT worked with Teaching Australia to manage the development of national professional standards for highly accomplished primary teaching. A draft set of Standards for Highly Accomplished Primary Teaching was completed in March 2010.

The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) took over Teaching Australia's responsibilities in relation to national teaching standards from 2010. Further progress with this work on primary standards is now in the hands of AITSL.
