Birth to eight years of age is an important stage in the development of people’s learning and lives. Equally important is providing access for all young children to key mathematical ideas and rich learning in their early years. Learning should nurture success and positive dispositions.
This site is designed primarily as a professional community for educators but also welcomes parents and other caregivers. The community program aims to invigorate the teaching and learning of mathematics.

The Early Years Learning in Mathematics community is founded upon the recommendations from the joint position paper developed by the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers and Early Childhood Australia.

||The Early Years Learning in Mathematics Community program aims to enhance the knowledge and confidence of all educators teaching children mathematics between Birth and eight years of age including networking and professional learning activities, resources and exemplars through showcase.|
||The Early Years Learning in Mathematics Community Leaders help nurture the community by providing mentoring of members, encouraging sharing and building confidence in members to participate actively in Forums.|
